You will need a thorough assessment of your health history, symptoms and laboratory result can help us know for sure.  Call Vitality for an appointment ((828) 322-1498) or make an online request to get you on your way to feeling the best that you can.

Andropause (low T syndrome): Men, like women, experience a decrease in the sex hormones that can lead to varying effects in the body. Some men sail through this without any noticeable symptoms, while other can be affected greatly. The testes produce nearly 95% of all male testosterone. The balance is supplied by the adrenal glands. They also produce small amounts of estrogen. The brain produces the pituitary hormones follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), which trigger hormone production from the testes. As a man gets older, testosterone levels fall and estrogen levels tend to rise. What are the symptoms of lower testosterone levels?

The range of symptoms is impressive and can include:

  • Bone Loss
  • Decrease Mental Clarity
  • Decrease Muscle Strength
  • Decrease Stamina
  • Decrease Urine Flow
  • Depression
  • Erectile Dysfunction
  • Hot Flashes
  • Increased Abdominal Fat
  • Increased Urge to Urinate
  • Irritability
  • Low Sex Drive
  • Mood Swings
  • Night Sweats
  • Poor Concentration
  • Sleep Disturbances

If you suffer from any or a combination of these symptoms, you may be suffering from low T. However only a thorough assessment of the health history, symptoms and laboratory result can help us know for sure.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement therapy refers to compounds that are chemically identical to the hormones produced in the body. These compounds are derived either by natural plant derivatives or synthetically replicated. Both are Bioidentical. We do not use equine (horse) estrogens or progestins. These are not identical to the hormones in the body and may have unintended responses in the body.

Bioidentical Hormone Pellets are placed under the skin and are specially compounded to release into the body slowly and steadily. On average, hormone pellets are replaced every 3-4 months in women and 5-6 months in men.
