How differentiate between different Fillers offered at Vitality

Question: What are the most common types of fillers and how do I know which one to get?

Answer: JUVÉDERM® Voluma XC, Ultra XC and Ultra Plus XC versus Juvederm Voluma XC. To start it helps to think of the face in 3 dimensions and multilayered. There is the structural support (such as the cheekbones), the muscle layer, the soft tissue layer (fat and tissue contributing to volume) and the skin. Each injectable has different properties and works to achieve specific goals in certain anatomical areas. Here at Vitality we offer hyaluronic acid fillers, Juvederm Ultra XC, Juvederm Ultra Plus and Juvederm Voluma XC. Hyaluronic (HA) fillers which are made out of a molecule naturally found in our skin means high compatibility with little to no reaction for the patient. These fillers are ideal for first time patients and can be injected almost anywhere you can think to add volume or shape. For example we can use these to enhance cheeks, nasolabial lines, lips, eyelids, eyebrows, and forehead lines. One of the greatest advantages is that HA fillers are the only category of fillers that is reversible by an enzyme, hyaluronidase, which can “melt” the filler almost instantly. Which has been revolutionary in treating patients with unhappy results.

To differentiate these HA fillers they are usually categorized in either heavy/volumizing or light/superficial. Juvederm Voluma XC is used for deep deposition for the cheek bones, mid face and the temporal hollow. The lip, lip lines and nasolabial lines require a lighter more superficial injection like Juvederm Ultra or Ultra Plus. Although there will be instances where a combination of these fillers will be used to achieve optimal results.
